Travel Nizuc Resort & Spa: Cancun’s Luxurious Hideaway My love for Mexico continues, and today I am so excited to spotlight a resort my husband and I recently visited, Nizuc Resort & Spa. Nizuc has been on my Mexico bucket list for years, and this luxury resort is so dreamy that I actually considered planning my wedding here! While Cancun is typically recognized for its party scene, Nizuc is a luxurious and relaxing resort and spa surrounded by serene mangroves and gorgeous ocean views. The open-air layout of the resort is so tranquil with the ocean breeze and lush greenery that you’ll completely forget you are located in the vibrant city of Cancun. After visiting Nizuc, it’s no surprise it has received such rave reviews from the best travel sources: “Best of the Best: Top 25 Resort Hotels in Mexico 2020” – Travel + Leisure “Top 20 Resorts In Eastern Mexico: Reader’s Choice Awards 2020” – Conde Nast Traveler “The Most Instagrammable Hotel In The World” – Luxury Travel Advisor Keep scrolling to learn more about this resort & click here to view all of our Mexico reviews and travel guides! THE LOCATION: What I love most about Nizuc is the stunning, modern architecture and layout of the resort. The rich earth tones and rustic-luxe decor combined with countless water features from waterfalls to reflective pools throughout the property create a calming essence from the bustling city of Cancun. This 29-acre property is located along the idyllic Punta Nizuc Coastline, surrounded by white sand beaches, lush greenery, and gorgeous mangroves. What I didn’t realize before my stay is there are only two resorts located on the Punta Nizuc Coastline, and both happen to be my favorite resorts in Cancun: Nizuc Resort & Spa and Club Med Cancun. While two resorts are polar opposites (Club Med Cancun is amazing if you’re looking for an energetic all-inclusive for families), I was so excited to see they were just a short beach walk apart! Since the resort is spread out, Nizuc offers golf cart transportation around the resort. The golf carts are constantly running, so you never need to call ahead or wait a while. The resort offers a mix of family-friendly and adults-only amenities, so you can enjoy a serene, romantic getaway with your spouse or have a fun-filled day at the pool with your kids! Best of all, the resort is only 15 minutes from the Cancun International Airport. You can book a direct flight from Dallas and arrive in paradise within 3 hours! THE SPA: Nizuc boasts the first ESPA-branded spa in the Mexican Caribbean, perfect for treating yourself to a day of pampering and R&R. Nizuc Spa by ESPA offers a wide variety of treatments such as hydrotherapy, massages, facials, couples massages, and a Mayan-inspired thermal experience. While a fitness center is typically the last place you’ll find me on vacation, the spa offers a fully-equipped fitness center, as well as personal training sessions, if you’re looking to stay active on your vacay. THE CUISINE: Nizuc has 6 restaurants with delicious local and international dishes to cater to every taste, from Mexican to Peruvian to Mediterranean and more. One of our favorite meals during our stay was at Indochine, the Asian-fusion restaurant located within the resort. I highly recommend grabbing a table outside by the reflective pool and ordering a tapas style dinner to try all of their dishes! The food combined with the overall vibe was incredible! We finished off our evening with a nightcap at Havana Lounge, and if you’re a cigar aficionado (which I am not..), you can enjoy a hand-rolled cigar paired with your favorite Caribbean rum while enjoying entertainment by their live Cuban band. In addition to the featured restaurants, you can have a customized experience whether it’s a wine-pairing dinner, private dinner on the beach, tequila tasting, sushi-making class, and so much more! With three bars, including a cigar bar and swim up bar, you can enjoy your sunset happy hour with a different view every night. While the resort offers a lot of lunch spots, we loved having lunch by the pool and on the adults only (16 years and older) beach. After all, why not spend as much time in a bikini if you’re in Mexico? THE ROOMS: We stayed in an Ocean View Deluxe King, and the room was so heavenly! The floor to ceiling windows and large patios were amazing to wake up to. In addition, the large master bathroom was so luxurious, stocked with my favorite L’Occitane products, and the freestanding deep soaking tub and rainfall shower were a dream after a day on the beach! The hotel offers 279 luxurious private suites and villas, each with amazing amenities ranging from large terraces, private infinity pools, outdoor showers, and more. If you’re traveling with a family, the residence suites and private villas would be super spacious and private to enjoy together. WHAT TO DO: Nizuc offers a daily schedule of events from daily fitness classes to evening tequila tastings and live music. With countless activities, excursions, and property amenities, you can make your trip as active or relaxing as you wish! Resort Activities: The resort offers 3 swimming pools to enjoy throughout the day, and one is adults only (our favorite). Grab a cabana and spend the day relaxing poolside while enjoying the ocean views. It is heavenly!
