Living in Dallas, one of my favorite places to travel is Colorado. Flights to Denver are always a breeze, it’s the perfect distance for a long road trip, and there are so many mountain towns just a couple hours apart making it a prime destination to hop between charming ski towns to create a fun and easy road trip! After all, there’s nothing quite as serene as a break from the city to enjoy a weekend in the mountains. Ever since our parents took us to ski in Aspen when we were little, this has remained one of my favorite mountain towns in Colorado. Aspen has a low key yet glamorous vibe, and it’s packed with luxurious hotels and boutiques – plus the chicest spots for apres ski. And if you love building a fabulous winter wardrobe, this is definitely the place to debut it! While I grew up visiting Colorado in the winters, I fell in love with summers in Colorado in my 20s. There’s nothing like the cooler weather, gorgeous foliage, and endless summer hikes for a weekend to recharge. Today I’m excited to spotlight one of my favorite hotels in Aspen: The St. Regis. This five-star luxury hotel is situated at the base of Aspen Mountain, making it a prime location whether you’re hitting the slopes in the winter or strolling into town for shopping. The hotel features a rustic elegance combining the luxurious aspects we all love about St Regis hotels with a ski lodge twist to embrace the charm of this quaint little mountain town. The luxurious elements of the hotel stream into every guest room with gorgeous furnishings by Ralph Lauren and the finest Frette linens to nestle into after a day on the mountain. Our room overlooked the terrace and the mountains, and waking up to these views was the best way to start the day! Best of all, the gorgeous marble bathrooms feature deep soaking tubs with doors that open to the room so you can unwind with a glass of wine with the gorgeous backdrop of Aspen scenery. Such a dream! One thing that makes the St. Regis so unique is the daily champagne sabering tradition on the terrace. Not only is it a wonderful excuse for complimentary afternoon bubbly, it’s such a fun way to connect and mingle with other guests and trade stories! If you visit a St. Regis hotel, be sure to attend this – we enjoyed a sabering at the St Regis Deer Valley last month too, and it was the best happy hour! If you travel in the summer, be sure to spend a day lounging poolside at the hotel’s outdoor pool at the base of Aspen Mountain – and for those visiting in the winter, head to Mountain Social Bar & Lounge for a lively apres ski! If you love a fine dining experience, plan a dinner at The Velvet Buck for delicious Colorado-centric cuisine with beautiful surroundings. Whether you plan to visit Aspen during the summer or winter, I highly recommend the St. Regis for your stay! I had an incredible experience and can’t wait to visit again!
